Anonymous sent: Do you have an AO3 account? I really like your writing

Oh, thank you so much, that’s a really kind compliment…though admittedly I’m a bit confused as to what you’re talking about, since I haven’t posted any writing on here in like, two years. But, really thank you!

I have an AO3 account, asexualhawke. I’ve at least vowed to post up that Isabela/F!Hawke before Inquisition comes out.

i gotta say i’m gonna warm up to mako if he keeps leaving asami and korra alone together

i love. love telling people that i consider romantic relationships to be a speed bump or interesting detour on the way to friendship.

that friendship is my end goal with all people i like or get along with. that the idea of elongated romantic relationships or worse, any romantic relationship that is planned to last as long as possible until death of me or a partner is one of the most suffocating unfulfilling fates i could imagine for myself.

especially if they’re someone who has seen me be an intense romantic about like, ships or something. some people act like you revealed yourself to be a secret heartless lizard alien who tried tricking them into thinking you were a warm loving ‘real’ person or something.

i love it when people make a post about how they find romantic love to be more fulfilling for them than friendship and it gets a billion notes or gets put in more poetic ways

but if anyone even dares to say they find friendship more fulfilling than love could ever be for them they get crucified

this girl’s eyes look just like natalie dormer

im so fucking pissed i was fucking tricked into coming back here. my mother left without taking me back to my grandmothers. and took my phone so i couldn’t call anyone to take me back.

so i am back at my mom’s house for the night

my son of bitch of a brother was in a pissy mood, and lost his shit that the soda only i drink was flat (apparently the thought of someone drinking flat soda makes him sick)

and somehow i ended up here, even though he went to sleep at his girlfriend’s for the night

Disney’s The Jungle Book cast so far: Neel Sethi as Mowgli, Ben Kingsley as the voice of Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of Rakcha, Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Kaa and Idris Elba as the voice of Shere Khan (x x x x)

YO, THIS IS A REAL THING THAT IS HAPPENING

And not only is the cast amazing, but the film is going to be a mixture of live-action and animation (a-la Mary Poppins). Neel Seth (Mowgli),is going to be the only live-action actor and everyone else’s characters will be animated AND I COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED.

Ahhh look at all those POCs (and a gender-flipped Kaa). I know it’s mostly animated but yay representation!

Anonymous sent: Hey, I was contemplating reading the Rick Riordan Percy Jackson books, but I'm a smidgen confused on which one I should start? Thanks a bunch, hope you have a great day!

OH BOY

I guess the answer would be it all depends on you, what you like to read, how you read, etc.

the books are cut into two series- the original percy jackson series (the lightning thief, sea of monsters, the titans curse, battle of the labryinth, the last olympian), and then the sequel series, heroes of olympus (lost hero, son of neptune, mark of athena, house of hades and the future blood of olympus).

CONSENSUS from the fandom is that the first books have superior writing in the technical sense and plot structure, but heroes of olympus is more interesting overall in terms of characters (multiple povs and diverse main cast of characters vs. the original series only having percy as a pov, and only really having him, annabeth, and grover as mains).

honestly you can start with heroes of olympus with just reading summaries of the original series’ books and you’ll be fine- not much plot stuff from the original series is brought over except for more obscure supplementary content stuff OR stuff that is so tiny that you probably completely forgot about it. (The exception to this is probably The Titan’s Curse, which has our intros to Thalia, Bianca, and Nico, butttt I may be biased).

so if you’re someone who likes to read things in order/get all info, or you read about it and think you’d enjoy it- then start with lightning thief and go on the traditional way. otherwise, i’d say skip right to heroes of olympus with the lost hero, and read the first series afterwards if you feel like it.
